A Sign For You Now

Aim of this step: To share my personal story and what I believe can happen to you also.

 

If you have read this far and are still not 100% convinced I understand completely. Why should it have to be so difficult? Why couldn't God just reveal himself to us if he were real?

 

I must admit that I got to this point and was quite convinced of God’s existence. But I wanted more.

 

What I realised was that the Bible is a book that over and over again shows us that we must be willing to act, not God. God already sent Jesus. It is up to us now as love does not force. I realised that in order for Jesus and God to act upon my request, I must ask him to reveal himself and humble myself to the fact that the Triune of Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit may be real first. Love is the highest value to the creator, and as such your wishes (within reason) will be respected and granted.

 

My story is what happened to me after this point. Read on.

 

As I succumbed the the fact that God may well be real I gave myself to him and asked him to show himself to me.

 

I said something along the lines of (and I encourage you to do the same, but only once you really and truly 100% mean it with your whole heart).

 

Father in heaven, I come before you to submit to you as your creation wanting to believe in you and your ways. However, as much as I read, see and hear, I cannot completely convince myself to believe that you really exist. I want to believe in you, I really do. I want to submit myself to you 100%. I want to commit my life to you and your ways, however there is a wall between myself and you that I am having trouble breaking down. I need you to come into my life lord and I ask that you show yourself to me. I need complete conviction that you are real and from that I can then begin my journey with you. I promise that if you do show yourself to me that I will love you with all my heart and endeavour to attempt to start following your ways.

 

I began to say this prayer most days as I continued to research, which gave me a stronger and stronger conviction that Jesus just may be God. You may want to say it every day for a month. Very soon after I began to feel an immediate sense of peace in my life. Maybe I was imagining it but I didn’t feel I was generally as worried and more trusting in him. What I guarantee you is if you do give it with your whole heart and soul in truth that you want answers, God will show himself to you in some way in your life. A way that will be personal to you.

I share my story below of what happened to me. I had an incredible experience which has now given me a 100% conviction of Christ. You can have something similar happen to you. You may read the below and feel that it would not be enough even if it was to occur to you. I understand. What I am saying is that whatever happens to you, it will be enough for you to convict yourself of God. This was enough for me.

If you believe nothing happens to you when you die, then you believe that you will die and nothing will happen. The bible discusses what will happen to those once they die. This is also what many NDE experiences describe. Surely it cannot hurt if you don’t have a belief or don’t believe in God. Why not give it a try? What I will put to you is what may happen if you are wrong? What if you would have changed just a couple of things in your life to get the right eternity once you die? I know it’s a nice thought, but I now believe this not because I just “want” to believe, but because I know it to be true through the points listed above and enormous amounts of time and research spent investigating for myself. More than anything I believe because of my own personal experience which I describe coming up below.

I now believe that the main reason people don’t allow god into their life is because of our ego and belief that we know best for our own lives. Submitting to a higher power goes against what our bodies and the flesh wants. Most of the what the Bible commands us to do is so very difficult to undertake as flesh. But wouldn’t this be a great test? Humans, the body and our flesh, wants us to be all knowing, knowing the best for ourselves, in charge, and I think now that this shelters us from knowing the truth.

I understand you may still have many questions. I have provided some resources to help with some of the sceptical questions that you may have surrounding hell, evil, morality etc. There are also a number of videos on there.

Do you think that God is asked questions he can’t possibly understand or provide an answer for? Of course he is. To bring it back to something we may understand such impossible questions of him may sound like, How many hours are there in a mile? Or, Is yellow square or rectangle in shape? Although this style of questioning may seem ridiculous could you agree that we may be asking the world to explain the unexplainable which isn’t possible in our current form. You may think this sounds like an excuse, however, it is far from it.

For example, why do bad things happen? We cannot know the answer to this. 99.9% of the bad in the world could be avoided if humans worked together for the greater good, yet it is not. If humans all followed the Bible, and all people lived for others rather than themselves, do you not think that the significant majority of evils could be overcome? Our free will is what creates almost all the evil in the world.

This intelligent designers basis for everything is love. Unconditional love. Can I ask who gives you unconditional love in your life other than God? Would this person still love you the same if you killed their child or beat them up?
